In the classrooms...
The classrooms at Hunter are filled with energy and excitement as we prepare to dismiss for the winter break. It seems like we just began second quarter, but in two weeks, we will complete second quarter electives. That means that when we return from break, students will register for second semester electives. Be on the lookout for more information about elective registration in the coming weeks.
Many of the Hunter students and families have been involved in class plays, teas, and performances. Our students have been outstanding in demonstrating multiple intelligences in all areas of the curriculum. The next two weeks before winter break hold more exciting performances and events to encourage development of the whole child. I look forward to your continued presence and support of the Hunter student body.
Congratulations to the following teachers for earning National Board for Professional Teaching Practices Certification: Lisa Kaszycki, Chad Oliver, Sharon Mogilski
Announcements
Magnet Intent Postcards - On November 30th Growth Management sent each magnet family a postcard with directions for completing the magnet intent on-line this year. All families who had to apply through the magnet application are magnet families. It is very important for magnet families to complete the magnet intent form on-line this year to assure your magnet seat for next year. If you do not wish to come back to Hunter next year, there is a place on the application for that as well. I will use this information to project how many magnet seats I have available to open up for new students next year.
Teacher of the Year!
Carol Wooten was chosen by her peers as the Hunter GT Magnet Elementary Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to Mrs. Wooten and all of the Hunter staff members. I know Mrs. Wooten will represent our school well.
Tips to help your child!
Shower your child with praise and affection and let them know that you understand that learning is hard but valued in your home. Don't wait until your child has done something remarkable to give praise.
