In the classrooms…
On November 7th Hunter staff recruited families at the annual Magnet Schools Fair. It was rewarding to explain the innovative theme essentials offered in our magnet program, such as electives in the arts and all academic disciplines. Parents were impressed to see and hear our band and orchestra students perform. But, the attribute that is Hunter’s biggest selling point is the staff! Our staff has the knowledge, skills, and determination to put the magnet vision into action and it is our teachers who make our magnet program the most successful in the county.
Last Thursday I had the honor of attending the State Board of Education Meeting where the Board recognized 5th grade teacher Carol Wooten as a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science. Again, one of our wonderful teachers is recognized.
