I. Call to Order
Marla Turlington, PTA President called the meeting to order at 9:08 am
No minutes to be approved.
The meeting will be strictly held to discuss and vote on the budget revisions for the 2009-2010 calendars.
II. Fundraising matters
Fundraising totals from "Reach for the Stars" were over $24,000.
2009 Book Fair total sales were $10,816.76. We have a total of $6,715.06 in scholastics dollars for this year. A balance from last year of $6,140.91 is also in our account. Remaining Scholastic dollars equals $11,981.09. The following motion was made by Ginny Harris and 2nd by Sharon Eckard and approved by all.
I move that we appropriate $4,000 of the 2009 Scholastic Dollars towards classroom books for Hunter literacy teachers and leave the remaining balance to the media center to be spent by May 2010.
III. Fundraising matters
Vickie presented the Treasurer Report Notes dated November 30, 2009. With the success of our fundraising dollars, we have new opportunities to spend some money. After reviewing and discussing our revenue and expenses; new projects were discussed. They include: $8,000 in teacher mini-grants, $4,000 buildings and grounds, $2,100 transit choir, $2,000 drama department (new plays), $5,000 for Chuck Davis Dance program 2010/2011, $3,500 artist Bren Bataclan visit and 3 canvas commission, $2,100 4th grade promethean board. After a brief discussion the following motion was made by Ginny Harris, 2nd by Sharon Eckard and approved by all.
I move that we approve the Hunter Elementary 2009 / 2010 school year Treasurer Report dated November 30, 2009 and presented by Treasurer, Vickie Adamson.
Vickie presented the Budget Revision spreadsheet dated Dec. 11, 2009. The actual dollar numbers are reflected in the spread sheet. After discussion, the following motion was made by Ginny Harris, 2nd by Mim Sichel and approved by all.
I move that we approve the Hunter Elementary 2009 / 2010 school year budget revision dated December 11, 2009 and presented by Treasurer, Vickie Adamson.
IV. Adjourn - the meeting concluded at 9:25 am
Our next PTA General Membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 5 at 8:30 am in the media center.
